Once every year, thousands of America's school administrators, teachers, parents,
business leaders, and policymakers join together at one event for ideas and inspiration that
place our children first. It’s the nation’s premier conference on K-12 education reform.
The Model Schools Conference is the International Center’s signature event. It brings all the components
of our work together at one time in support of our basic mission: a rigorous and relevant education for
all students.
The 16th Annual Model Schools Conference will showcase:
- High schools, middle grades programs, and
elementary schools that are highly successful at
providing every student with a rigorous and
relevant education. Identifying and analyzing the
high schools are part of a major joint initiative of
the International Center for Leadership in
Education and the Council of Chief State
School Officers, with financial support from the
Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
- Instructional practices and leadership
approaches that lead to dramatic improvement
in student performance.
- Cutting-edge research on best practices and
skills and knowledge needed for success in
technological, information-based society.
- Student engagement strategies used by high performing
schools.
- Measurable learning criteria that schools can
use to evaluate how well they are doing in meeting
their goals on an ongoing basis.
- Keynote and feature presentations by national
education leaders, including Bill Daggett, Larry
Gloeckler, Louis Martinez, Ray McNulty, Paul
Nussbaum, Russ Quaglia,
Harry Wong, and others.
Start with a PreConference - Sunday, June 22 9 am - 4 pm
Stay for the Post-Conference - Wednesday, June 25 2 - 4 pm and Thursday, June 26 8 - 11 am. Dr. Daggett will lead the Post-Conference — Implementing Solutions - Right Now!

to implement changes for world-class
education in their schools, classrooms
and communities.
